Bio

Sports, especially soccer, are a very important part of my life. Getting exercise playing a sport I love is a great experience, and the competition in each game is a great motivator to give my all every day. Soccer is also part of how I identify myself. If I wasn't able to call myself a soccer player, I wouldn't have a clear cut way to describe myself concisely. Soccer is a great way for me to rest my mind. I spend all day worrying about a hundred different things, but once I step onto that pitch with a ball at my feet, I'm stress free for a couple hours. It's a sort of sports therapy for me.

The most memorable achievement in sports in my life has been playing soccer for my high school. I went to De La Salle High School, a school steeped in tradition, and living up to the standards set forth by previous student athletes was very demanding. Expectations were very high for our conduct on and off the field. This affected me as a person because it gave me a sense of belonging and purpose that I had not previously had playing for club teams. It also taught me that hard work on the practice field means less pain during the game. This spurs me to give my all every practice.
