VALLEJO, Calif. – Prior to the start of Saturday's Cal Pac season finale at PEAC Main Gym, the women's basketball program honored its graduating seniors Addison Alsbury, Alina Daffon, Dylan Fulton, Chris Heimann, Kai Kraus and Tiare Novero-Paaga in a pregame ceremony. Once action began, a packed house was treated to a thriller the entire evening.
By hitting 5 of 9 threes throughout the first and second quarters, Pacific Union held a game-high lead with two minutes remaining until halftime.
Once both teams returned to the court after the break, the Keelhaulers methodically chipped away at their deficit.
In the third quarter alone, CSUM's defense held the Pioneers to only six points. Throughout the fourth quarter, the Keelhaulers ended up outscoring PUC by six points and trailed by one point with 63 seconds left to play.
The Pioneers withstood CSUM's second half charge, and recorded their final three points at the line since Cal Maritime was forced to foul and escaped Vallejo with a 65-61 win.
In her final game in a Cal Maritime uniform, Dylan Fulton finished with a game-high 16 points. Aysia Santos ended her season with 15 points, Alsbury led her team with seven rebounds and Kraus recorded a game-high five assists.
