The Cal Maritime Department of Athletics and Physical Education offers students competitive and recreational opportunities to keep physically active and engaged while enrolled, which includes intramurals, recreation classes, aquatics and open gym.

Keelhauler Fit

Designed by Cal Maritime Sports Performance to help student find and maintain balance throughout their undergraduate career, Keelhauler Fit is a multi-faceted mental, physical and emotional health program that offers seminars, workshops and presentations to enhance self-care.

Through programming that commences in mid-January — information pertaining to all Keelhauler Fit events is available on its Instagram profile —  students will enjoy an enriched undergraduate experience that will help them achieve their academic and athletic potential.

Featured throughout this 76,000-square-foot complex, the home of Cal Maritime men's/women's basketball, are:

     • Cardio exercise room 

     • Free weight and circuit training rooms 

     • Athletic training and rehab center 

     • Main gymnasium with one basketball court, three volleyball courts and seating for 635 Guests 

     • Auxiliary gymnasium with a full-size volleyball court and half-size basketball court 

     • Olympic-size pool with bleachers 

     • Survival training platform with hoist
     • Two conference rooms 

     • Ten faculty offices

 


 

 

 Bodnar Field

In addition to hosting the University's commencement ceremony each spring, the home for Cal Maritime's men's/women's soccer and men's/women's rugby teams also provides the campus community with the following amenities:

     • Synthetic turf field for recreational use, intramural and intercollegiate competitions
     • Satellite athletic training room
     • All-weather running track (two lanes)
     • Automatic lighting system to provide facility for nighttime use by students
