Owls fly by Keelhaulers

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Keelhaulers started an eight-game road trip as they took on #16 Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls. The Hustlin' Owls outscored the Keelhaulers by double figures in the first half en route to a 99-80 victory. 

In the first half, the OIT started the game on a 20-4 run, capped by a Blake Jensen free throw with 13:49 left in the half. The Keelhaulers would come as close as 13 on two occasions; the second occasion at 24-11 on a Jaylen Solich layup with 11:20 left in the half. Oregon Tech would gain their largest lead of the game at 26, at 47-21, on a Grant Tull layup with 4:20 left in the half. 

In the second half, the OIT would hold the Keelhaulers at arms' length. The Keelhaulers would come as close as 13 on two occasions; the second occasion at 78-65 on a Solich free throw with 6:29 left. Oregon Tech would gain their largest lead of the half at 25, at 93-68, on a Keegan Shivers layup with 3:15 left.

Alex Maze scored 12 points to lead the Keelhaulers. Kam Osborn led the Hustlin' Owls with a game-high 19 points. Jamal Frenchwood had 11 and DJ Henry had 10 in the loss.

The Keelhaulers will continue their road trip next Friday as they take on #9 Montana Tech in Butte, Montana. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. Pacific.
