BUTTE, Mont. – DeAndre Minor led all Keelhaulers in scoring by finishing with 14 points, on 7 of 12 shooting, and finished with a team-high seven rebounds in Friday's non-conference matchup at the Comfort Inn Fall Classic against tournament host Montana Tech, the seventh-ranked team in the nation.
Jamal Frenchwood scored nine points, Lucky Hampton added another eight off the bench and CSUM created solid looks all night long in Butte, Montana, but those shots just didn't fall for the Keelhaulers as the team shot 31.9 percent overall.
By comparison, the Orediggers hit 55.4 percent of their shots from the floor, which led to a 102-58 result for Montana Tech — a team the improved to 5-0 and has one more game remaining in its season-opening six-game homestand.
Cal Maritime falls to 1-2 overall and will look to even its record in Saturday afternoon against Carroll (MT). Tipoff is slated for 4:30 p.m. and will wrap-up the Keelhaulers' weekend in Big Sky Country.
