Keelhaulers record a pair of 1-2 finishes at the Golden State Indoor Rowing Championship

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – In just its second regatta of the season, Cal Maritime's men's and women's crew teams turned in stellar performances at the Golden State Indoor Rowing Championship, hosted by the Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, California.

In the Women's College Open 2k, Morgan Vincent Kiehn won the race with a time of 8:41.4 with teammate Emma Rightnowar placing second after completing that distance in 9:24.5.

The Keelhaulers recorded another 1-2 finish in the Men's Coxswain 1k thanks to Tyler Jung and Henry Walsh as 1.2 seconds separated the pair with the former's time of 3:36.7 edging the latter's 3:37.9.

The Men's College Open 2k race saw Aden Sallaberry and Hunter Challakee place sixth and seventh with respective times of 7:14.9 and 7:26.2. Austin Eukert (7:49.1), Sam Johnson (7:55.1) and Fuego Onofeghara-Omoko (8:17.8) finished ninth, 10th and 11th; Josh Phillippi captured 12th in this race's deep field with a time of 8:34.8.

After competing in two indoor regattas in as many weeks, Cal Maritime is off for the next month to train for the President's Cup Regatta, also taking place at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center on March 1.
