Keelhaulers and Oaklanders play to 1-1 draw

VALLEJO, Calif. – The Keelhaulers wrapped up their two match homestand as they took on Lincoln University (CA) in non-conference play. Each team would score a goal in the second half and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the first half, the match was played a very even pace. The Keelhaulers outshot the Oaklanders 6-4 in the half. The final chance in the half for the Keelhaulers to score came in the 42nd minute but Jose Diaz's shot went just wide. The two teams were tied at 0-0 at halftime.

In the second half, the Keelhaulers would get on the scoreboard first in the 66th minute as Jose Diaz would score off an assist from Luka Bilaver. In the 88th minute, the Oaklanders would score on an Alec Castorena penalty kick to tie the match at 1-1. The Keelhaulers would not get a shot off before time expired as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. 

Anthony Gonzalez and Isaac Castillo each earned a tie for their respective clubs. The Keelhaulers outshot the Oaklanders 18-8 while the Oaklanders had a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Keelhaulers will hit the road for their next two matches as they resume California Pacific Conference play. The next match will take place on Thursday as they take on Providence Christian College in Pasadena. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m.
