Keelhaulers close season against UC Santa Cruz

VALLEJO, Calif. - The Keelhaulers played on the friendly pitch of Bodnar Field for the final time in the 2024 season as they hosted NCAA Division III opponent UC Santa Cruz. The Banana Slugs defeated the Keelhaulers. 6-1.

In the first half, the Banana Slugs would get on the scoreboard in the 10th minute as Nico Herrera-Land would score to give the Banana Slugs a 1-0 lead. The Banana Slugs would add to their total eight minutes later as Max Beldner found the back of the net. Herrera-Land would score the final tally of the half for UCSC off a pass from Soren Groessi in the 19th minute. The Keelhaulers would find the back of the net in the 44th minute on an Elijah Mondragon tally to trim the Banana Slugs' lead to 3-1 at halftime.

In the second half, the Banana Slugs would score in the 69th, 80th and 81st minutes for the final tallies of the match. 

Chris Jamrok got the win for the Banana Slugs and Anthony Gonzalez got the loss for the Keelhaulers. The Banana Slugs outshot the Keelhaulers, 14-11, and had a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
