VALLEJO, Calif. — The long wait Cal Maritime women's basketball is almost over because the Keelhaulers will return to the court for their inaugural set of regular season games, starting October 25, for a set of back-to-back home games at PEAC Main Gym.

Following Friday's season opener vs. Ottawa (AZ), the team will end its weekend less than 24 hours later to host Bethesda (CA).

Both games will start at 5:30 p.m.

This year's CSUM roster features six returners and seven newcomers, giving second-year head coach Imhotet Amen-Ra a blend of up-an-coming talent and experience.

Even though Marissa Serrano and Alicia Porter, the program's all-time leading scorer are no longer with the team due to graduation, four seniors — Alina Daffon, Dylan Fulton, Chris Heimann and Kai Kraus — one junior (Aysia Santos) and one sophomore (Lexy Wallace) are back to help the program continue its ascension within the Cal Pac Conference.

Cal Maritime is loaded with veterans, thanks to is five incoming upperclassmen transfers: seniors Addison Alsbury (Saint Katherine), Tiare Novero-Paaga (Saint Katherine) join juniors Suraya Lloyd (Napa Valley College), Emily Newton (Lewis & Clark College), and Jaz Novelli (Lower Columbia College) are expected to make their Keelhauler debuts this weekend.

Also donning a CSUM jersey for the first time in their collegiate careers are freshmen Jameelah Pharms and Alanis Sulivan.

A home-heavy start to the season continues with an exhibition game on November 6 vs. California Tribal College. Between that game and this weekend's back-to-back situation is CSUM's inaugural road game of the season — a brief trip that take it to UC Santa Cruz on November 2.

After that exhibition contest, the Keelhaulers will not compete in Vallejo for the rest of the month since they will compete at Division II foe Academy of Art before traveling to the OIT Classic, hosted in Klamath Falls, Oregon by Oregon Tech before wrapping-up this season-long road swing at the end of the month when the College of Alameda hosts Cal Maritime at Lincoln (CA).

Five of the next eight games will take place at home, a block of action that culminates with women's basketball's January 16 Cal Pac opener vs. UC Merced.

December's schedule will commence with home games against Dominican, another D-II opponent and Park Gilbert, continue with a pair of exhibition games against Division I opponents Santa Clara and UC Davis and the last regular season game of 2024 at Jessup.

The new year will kick-off with another back-to-back set of home games, both against Stanton before CSUM kicks-off conference play at home in mid-January.
