Suraya Lloyd leads Keelhaulers at La Sierra

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Suraya Lloyd enjoyed an efficient night inside Alumni Pavilion in Riverside, California, by scoring a team-high 15 points on 7 of 12 shooting and collecting five rebounds, one shy of matching Kai Kraus' season-high six boards.

Lloyd has now scored double figures in three of the last four games.

The Keelhaulers remained withing striking distance of La Sierra for most of the night and trailed the Golden Eagles, 58-52, entering the final minutes of the game. But a late 11-3 run from LSU helped it pull away from CSUM and remain unbeaten in conference play, thanks to a 73-61 result over Cal Maritime.

The Keelhaulers will head to Westcliff for Saturday's 2 p.m. game at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California, before returning to Vallejo that night,

In addition to her team-high four assists — Kraus also matched that total — Aysia Santos scored 13 points with Addison Alsbury adding another nine.

Cal Maritime's defense forced La Sierra to commit 29 turnovers, which led to 24 points for the Keelhaulers. They also enjoyed a strong third quarter by canning 8 of 14 field goal attempts.

Santos scored nine of her points on all four shots taken throughout that 10-minute period.
