Keelhaulers open 2024-25 season at the Pacific Coast Highway Invitational

CARMEL, Calif. - Cal Maritime Women's Golf played its first tournament of the 2024-25 season when they took part in the Pacific Coast Highway Invitational, hosted by NCAA Division II member Menlo College. 

In Monday's first round, sophomore Allison Bailey led the Keelhaulers' contingent with an 18th-place finish on the day. Senior Yanna Albarracin finished 24th while sophomore Alice Sandel finished 25th. Freshman Natalie Estrada ended her day with a 26th-place finish.

On Tuesday, all four Keelhaulers showed marked improvement over Monday's results. Bayley finished in 20th to lead the Keelhaulers, Albarracin finished 25th, Sandel finished 26th and Estrada finished 27th.  

Kyla Layman of Westmont College won the individual competition while the hosts finished first in the team competition. The Keelhaulers finished fifth overall.

Cal Maritime will continue its fall schedule October 7-8 when it heads to Solvang for the TMU Danish Classic.
