RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Throughout the entire first half and the opening portion of the second, Cal Maritime's defense frustrated La Sierra in Thursday night's Cal Pac game in Riverside, California, at La Sierra Sports Field. Even though the Golden Eagles took a 1-0 lead into halftime, women's soccer made them work for every scoring attempt, and remained within striking distance until LSU pulled away to record a 5-0 win over the Keelhaulers.
Freshman midfielder Aliyah Moreno recorded her first shot, and shot on goal as a Keelhauler, late in the first half.
Cal Maritime will now head to Pasadena for Saturday's 10 a.m. contest at Providence Christian, its final road game of the 2022 season, at 0-13 overall and 0-9 during league play. The Golden Eagles will continue their season with records of 5-6-1 and 5-5.
