Keelhaulers secures sixth at TMU Danish Classic

SOLVANG, Calif. – Cal Maritime Men's Golf continued its 2024-25 campaign when they traveled to Solvang for the TMU Danish Classic. The two-day tournament took place at Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort and was hosted by The Master's University.

In Monday's first round, senior James McNally led the Keelhaulers firing a +2 (74) and finished seventh for the day. Freshman Evan Molina shot a +7 (79) for a 19th place finish and freshman Mason Sylvester finished 40th with a score of +13 (80). Freshman Jack Buffini shot a +14 (86) and finished 41st amd junior Tyler Dendiu rounded out the Keelhaulers' contingent finishing 43rd with a round of +15 (87).

On Tuesday, four Keelhaulers improved their scores from round one. McNally shot a second-round score of +1 (73) for a tournament score of +3 (147). That overall score tied him for seventh along with Wes Opliger of The Master's University. Molina shot a +10 (82) in the second round which placed him in 32nd. Buffini shot a +7 (79) which placed him in 37th with a +21 (165); Sylvester finished tied for 39th, along with Keean Young of Simpson University, after a second round score of +9 (81). Dendiu finished tied for 40th, along with Justin Kiester of Simpson, after shooting a +8 (80).   

Jonathan Larson of The Master's won the individual competition with a -7 (137), the tournament's host also won the team competition as the Keelhaulers finished sixth.

The Keelhaulers will continue their fall schedule October 28th-29th as they take part in the Menlo Invitational in Seaside.
