Keelhaulers draw with Pioneers

VALLEJO, Calif. -  The Keelhaulers took on Pacific Union College at Bodnar Field in the second match of a three match homestand. The Keelhaulers scored two goals in the second half en route to a 2-2 draw with the Pioneers.

In the first half, the Pioneers would get on the scoreboard first in the 40th minute as Hunter Valerio would score after a pass from Zachary DaValle to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead. The last chance for the Keelhaulers to score in the half came in the 41st minute but Samuel Jauregui's shot went just wide. The Pioneers outshot the Keelhaulers 6-4 while the Keelhaulers had a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.

In the second half, the Keelhaulers would tie the match at 1-1 in the 52nd minute on a Luke Bilaver tally. Jose Diaz would give the Keelhaulers the lead at 2-1 in the 57th minute. However, the Pioneers would tie the match at 2-2 in the 64th minute on an Emiliano Ascencio shot. The last chance for the Keelhaulers to score came in the 85th minute but Jauregui's shot went just over the crossbar.

Andres Becerra and Anthony Gonzalez each earned ties for their respective clubs.

The Keelhaulers will finish up their homestand next Sunday as they will host Bethesda University of California. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m.
