Keelhaulers split doubleheader against Blue Devils, Bobcats

MERCED, Calif. – The Keelhaulers opened their 2024 season as they traveled to Merced to take on UC Merced and Merced College. The Keelhaulers fell 16-7 to the homestanding Bobcats and won 18-10 over the Blue Devils.
In the second match of the day, the Keelhaulers outscored the Blue Devils 4-0 in the first quarter and would expand their lead throughout the game as the Keelhaulers cruised 18-10 over the Blue Devils. Warren Cooper scored all five of his goals in the second half to lead the Keelhaulers in scoring.
In the first match of the day, the Bobcats would lead from the opening sprint and won 16-9 over the visiting Keelhaulers. Cooper and Riley Kraatz each had two goals apiece for the Keelhaulers.
Cal Maritime returns home to the PE and Aquatics Center on October 12th as they host nine local colleges and universities at the CWPA Tournament. Cal Maritime will begin the day against Chico State at 8 am and will take on University of San Francisco at 1:30 pm.
