Five Keelhaulers earn All-Cal Pac honors, a new single-season program record

MERCED, Calif. – A program record five women's basketball student-athletes earned All-California Pacific Conference distinction when league officials unveiled their end-of-season honor roll at the Basketball Championship Banquet in Merced Thursday night. The Keelhaulers' list of award recipients included First Team honors for senior forward Dylan Fulton, Second Team recognition for junior forward Aysia Santos and Honorable Mention for Addison Alsbury, Suraya Lloyd and Emily Newton.

This announcement is the latest recognition for a program on the rise since the number of awards recipients this season exceeds the number of All-Cal Pac awards received the last five seasons combined.

Each CSUM student-athlete received all-conference recognition for the first time in their respective careers.

Fulton, the president of Cal Maritime's Student-Athlete Council, started 20 of 21 games and led the team in scoring and rebounding at 11.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Responsible for 13 double-figure scoring and a pair of double-figure rebound games this season, Cal Maritime's team leader notched two double-doubles, scored a season-high 22 points at home vs. Stanton last January and a career-high 13 rebounds at Pacific Union earlier this month.

In addition to posting the fifth-highest individual field goal percentage among all Cal Pac players (.459) her overall scoring and rebound averages ranked her No. 7 and No. 12 in the league.

During conference play, the native of Daly City averaged 12.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game — the sixth- and ninth-highest individual figures in the league.

Santos enjoyed a breakout season where she finished with improved individual statistics nearly across the board in all major categories.

Nobody recorded more field goals from three (18) during league play than she; the Chula Vista native also recorded the fourth-highest three-point field goal percentage (.346), recorded the ninth-highest points total (113), scoring average (11.3 ppg), 10th-highest field goals made total (43), 11th-highest field goal percentage (.417) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.0) against Cal Pac opposition.

Santos did not just shone during the Keelhaulers' conference slate, stats prove she excelled throughout the entire season since she finished the year with the following overall individual Cal Pac rankings: No. 2 in 3FGM (45, two shy of the top spot), No. 4 in points scored (255), No. 5 in 3FG pct. (.313), No. 6 in FGM (96) and assists (59), No. 7 in A:TO (1.2), No. 10 in scoring per game (10.6), No. 11 in FG pct. (.381) and steals (32).

Named a starter in 21 of 24 games, Santos finished with the second-highest overall field goal percentage, assists per game average (2.5) and third-highest percentage from three of all Keelhaulers who played 14 games — half the team's total plus one.

Even though her 59 assists ranked her second on the team, it is fair to say she would have ended the season with the highest assists total and assists per game average if Stanton did not forfeit its game at Cal Maritime.

However, her overall steals total (32, but a team-high 15 were earned in Cal Pac games) and steals per game (1.3) average ranked her second among all Keelhaulers in each category.

A trio of newcomers earned Honorable Mention and positively impacted Cal Maritime's season since the moment they arrived. Basketball fans have something to look forward to next season because, in addition to Santos, two of these newcomers are slated to return next year.

In her lone season at Cal Maritime, Alsbury recorded 41 assists and 30 steals throughout her 24 games played (including 22 starts). Those are the third-highest totals on the team.

The graduating senior from Vacaville shot .353 overall, averaged 4.3 points, 3.5 rebounds per game, and set career highs in those respective categories when she scored nine points in three games and collected eight rebounds a couple weeks ago vs. Westcliff.

Even though she was limited to 13 games, Lloyd quickly earned a name for herself with the way she played against Cal Pac foes.

Ranked fourth among all CSUM players in Cal Pac play with 3.5 rebounds per game, the Vacaville native came off the bench to score 59 points through 13 games, record nine steals, block two shots average 6.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game — the fourth-highest averages in those categories against league opponents.

Newton provided head coach Imhotet Amen-Ra with a shooting threat from three the minute she stepped onto the court; 23 of her 34 field goals were recorded from behind the arc.

Responsible for 47 rebounds 18 steals and a pair of blocked shots during the 2024-25 campaign, led by her career-high 15 points earned at Westcliff — 3 of 4 baskets were earned from three that afternoon — she scored double figures five times.

Newton, who hails from Jackson, averaged 6.8 ppg in her debut season at Cal Maritime.
