UC Santa Cruz forfeits Saturday's home opener

VALLEJO, Calif. - UC Santa Cruz forfeited Saturday's home opener at Bodnar Field because, as shared by a team representative, the Banana Slugs are "not able to field a team for this weekend. We hae a home competition as well this weekend."

UC Santa Cruz' decision means the Keelhaulers will host the first home event in program history on March 15 vs. Saint Mary's.

Other rugby games scheduled for Saturday, the 11 a.m. Cal State Monterey Bay-Saint Mary's neutral-site game at Bodnar Field and 1:30 p.m. men's game vs. Arizona State, are unaffected by UCSC's decision.
