Poor conditions bring premature end to McIntyre Team Race

Results

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – On a weekend that started with perfect weather for sailing in Redwood City, California, Cal Maritime ended the McIntyre Team Race in seventh place since the second day at the Arrillaga Family Rowing and Sailing Center was canceled due to unsuitable conditions.

Sailing for the Keelhaulers this weekend were Nick Mueller and Gavin Steuerwald, Oscar Perry and Nicolai Perez, Clay Meyers and Etienne Quille as they ended Saturday's racing with head-to-head victories against Cal, Cal Poly, Clemson, Northwestern and UC San Diego.

Looking to climb up the leaderboard on Sunday, Mother Nature forced race officials to call the regatta off Sunday afternoon and determined that Saturday's results would determine the overall events.

Cal Maritime will return to Redwood City next weekend to compete in the Top-9 Invite, the fourth of five regattas in as many weeks.
