VALLEJO, Calif. – The final week of the regular season will end in bittersweet fashion when Cal Maritime conducts its Senior Night ceremony prior to the start of Saturday's 6:30 p.m. regular season finale vs. La Sierra.

Basketball fans are encouraged to arrive to PEAC Main Gym and secure their seats by 6:15 p.m. to help women's basketball honor Alicia Porter, its lone graduating senior. Even though she still has one more year of athletic eligibility remaining — hence the junior-year designation on the team's roster — she is a senior, from an academic standpoint, and plans to graduate this spring.

Before Porter is honored this weekend, her team will return to its home court for the final pair of games this season, starting with Thursday's 5:30 p.m. matchup against Antelope Valley.

The Pioneers will enter this contest with victories in its last five straight games, the top seed locked up at the upcoming Cal Pac Women's Basketball Championship, and one of the league's two automatic bids at this year's NAIA National Tournament in in possession after securing all three at home last Thursday against Simpson.

With wins in two of their last five played, the Golden Eagles will square off against Pacific Union Thursday night before ending the season on the Keelhaulers' home court.

All eight of La Sierra's victories were earned throughout league play, including the January 12 series opener that saw the Golden Eagles pull away late to secure a win against CSUM.

Even though Cal Maritime will look to even the season series against both upcoming opponents, the highlight of the weekend will take place at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Saturday when Porter is honored for her academic and athletic excellence during the program's Senior Night ceremony.

Responsible for setting numerous Cal Pac and Cal Maritime records throughout her career, this year's Corps Commander joined an elite list of cadet-athletes when she scored the 1,000th point of her career in the Keelhaulers' last home game, which took place on February 5 against Park Gilbert.

Entering the final week of her career with 1,050 points, the Simi Valley native has a shot in passing Alexsis Brown (2009-10, 2011-12) as the No. 2 scorer in school history. Brown ended her Cal Maritime career with 1,126 points.

Even though 76 points separate the two, Porter is responsible for two of the league's top-four single-game scoring totals (43 and 41 points) and scored 30 or more in another four games this season.
